Talk Health Kirklees

Following the “Talk Health Kirklees” public consultation in 2016, NHS Greater Huddersfield and NHS North Kirklees CCGs have agreed to stop the routine prescribing of

  • multivitamins and minerals, where no specific deficiency has been identified (from 1st February 2017)
  • branded medicines, where an appropriate generic medicine is available (from 1st February 2017)
  • skin creams and emollients, hair and scalp products, cream for unwanted facial hair and other products that have a predominantly cosmetic action (from 1st March 2017)
  • camouflage products e.g. for port wine stain birthmarks (from 1st March 2017)
  • sunscreens for skin protection from UV radiation (from 1st March 2017)
  • gluten-free foods (from 1st April 2017)
  • soya and thickened infant formulas (from 1st April 2017)
  • infant formula for lactose intolerance (from 1st April 2017)
